What your notice must include
For a notice to be valid under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)), it must contain all of the following:
- Signature: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or of a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- The original work: A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
- The infringing material: A description of the material you believe is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it, such as its URL.
- Your contact details: Your mailing address, phone number and email address, so we can reach you.
- Good-faith statement: A statement that you believe in good faith that the copyright owner, its agent or the law has not authorized the use of the material.
- Accuracy statement: A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
Counter-notice
If you believe your content was removed by mistake or because it was misidentified, you may file a counter-notice. It must include the information required under 17 U.S.C. §512(g)(3).
Repeat infringers
Where appropriate, we will terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright.
